Waddell weekly Update 30/6/16

Dear Parents,

Thursday 30th June 2016

This is my last ‘Waddell Weekly’ for the session and I hope it finds you well and looking forward to a fantastic Sumer full of fun with your children.

Despite it being the last week we have been busier than ever. We have thoroughly enjoyed this week with two parties (one for the morning group and one for the afternoon group) with our friends from Craigroyston Nursery. We will be sad to see them leave us but hope they settle back into nursery life in their own settings in August without he worry of having to travel across the city. The children all enjoyed themselves and were especially happy to see ‘Tricky Ricky’ who came to entertain them. The joy on their faces at the most simple of jokes and the tricks Ricky did for them really warmed our hearts.

We have put in place plans for Ricky to entertain the children at the end of the session next year as this was so successful. This will be in the form of an end of year party where the P6 nursery buddies can help their younger buddies. This will be between the 20-22nd of June 2017 and will be for the children only.

We have also begun to plan for a combined sports day and nursery graduation where we will invite parents. This will also be between the 20-22nd of June 2017. From your recent feedback we know that taking a day off work can be difficult and so hope to combine events to make this easier to plan and attend and to avoid you missing any special moments for your children. This will be instead of a nursery family day out.

Thank you for your support at this year’s Nursery Showcase and Graduation. The children loved sharing ‘The Gingerbread Man’ with you and we were very impressed by them. We say a very fond farewell to our pre-schoolers who will be moving on to P1 in August.

Some activities of interest over the hoilidays…

This year’s  Edinburgh’s Playday  will take place in

the Grassmarket on  Wednesday 27th July,  demonstrating the power of play  to parents and the public.

This has been really successful in the past and something that may be of interest to you.
