As part of our topic on the Romans, we have been learning all about Hadrian’s wall. The actual wall was 15ft high, with a 15ft ditch alongside it, but unfortunately we didn’t have the space or materials to recreate this. So we made our own miniature version, which ran the full length of our sandpit. The walls were 20cm high, with a 20 cm ditch running alongside them. The children were broken up into legions and built a section of the wall each. The results were fabulous, and I was so impressed by the children’s team work skills. All of them acting as effective contributors!
Well done P4S!
