The children in Primary 4 recently finished their topic on the Egyptians, with a hands on, practical lesson which saw them constructing their own shadufs. The Ancient Egyptians used these hand operated devices for lifting water out of the River Nile in order to water their crops on adjacent land. Once they had lifted the water out of the water, they would poor it down irrigation channels. The children had great fun recreating this within our school sandpit as part of outdoor learning.
Great work P4’s
