The Cramond Ski Race Team have trained up at Hillend on Sundays for the last few years and they also take part in ski racing competitions.
To join the Ski Race Team children are required to be competent skiers (Hillend level 6 or above) but do not need to be in the Cramond Ski Club that skis at Hillend on Friday afternoons. Hillend Level 6 (which can differ from other ski schools level 6) is obtained when skiers are able to perform parallel turns with pole plant from at least the middle station at Hillend.
The race lessons usually run in blocks of 4 and are on Sunday evenings (5:15-6:30pm) at Hillend. There is no obligation to do any more than the 4 week block if your child just wants to try out ski racing. We have a qualified race instructor teaching the kids techniques for speed and slalom racing. It’s a great way for them to continue to progress their skiing and good fun too!
