Waddell Weekly Term 2 Week 6

Thanks again to all of you helping out with nativity preparation. Our amazing and wonderful nursery reps organised a night in and as a result we now have a full rail of beautifully washed, ironed, mended and made nativity costumes. Added to this Mrs Warrender has been buying new accessories and costumes for the performances. We could not be happier. Dressing up in the playroom this week is elves  and santas and all that jazz! And the children are LOVING it.

On another Christmas related theme, the proofs of our ‘enterprising elves‘ activity are ready and slips went home yesterday in the book bags. The children have all made hand prints and these have been collated and made into a beautiful design on a very useful cloth bag with the nursery logo. These can be purchased in time for Christmas if you hurry. Please have order forms in as soon as you possibly can to make sure you have presents for family and friends if you would like them.

We have another pair of hands joining us in nursery this week. Morgan Ramsay, a National Certificate student, will be with on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the next 20 weeks. Morgan attended Cramond herself and has already been back on work experience to help out in the nursery and we look forward to her working with us again.

Nursery staff have also been busy training with maths materials called ‘Numicon’ this week as well. It’s an excellent resource that we can do all sorts of play with to encourage and develop maths skills at early level. We have our own set in nursery and a set in Primary 1 and we are really looking forward to making the most of this resource now we are experts!

Next week:

  • Please remember return slips for nursery bags if you want any.
  • CPSC Christmas movie night is next Thursday.
