As you know, we have been looking for a replacement for Miss McKay and you will be pleased to know we have found her. Miss Amanda Patrick will be joining the team and will be the key worker for the green group. (We do not have a definite start date for her until all paperwork is concluded and so have made the decision for Miss Anderson to continue as the key worker for the green group for the whole term until the Christmas holidays.) As an Early Years Officer she will have some additional responsibility in the nursery. So that everyone understands how the team all fit together and the varied roles we play we have added our remits to the planning wall in the play room. Please take a moment to have a look at the wall to find out what everybody does in the room and how we all support each other.
You will also find a copy of the weekly timetable (alongside the timetable for the areas of the school we use) and a weekly plan (alongside our bulletin showing what is planned in school for the week). There is a space for responsive planning. That’s where we take note of the things the children are showing a particular interest in or are talking to us about. We use this information to change the resources and plan for the next week.
You will also notice we have created an area to display our self evaluation process. It’s there so we are continually sharing what we do with you. Please do come in and have a look. We use a document called ‘How Good Is Our Early Learning and Childcare?’ to guide us.
