School History 1975 – 2025

Our History & Community

Cramond Primary School first opened its doors in 1975, serving the children and families of Cramond and the wider north-west Edinburgh area. Since then, the school has grown and flourished at the heart of its community, welcoming generations of families and continuing a proud tradition of learning, care and community spirit.

From its earliest days, Cramond Primary has been more than a school – it has been a hub of local life, where pupils, parents, carers, staff and neighbours come together to support children’s learning and wellbeing. Over the decades, we have built strong partnerships with local organisations, community groups, businesses and the wider Cramond Parish. These partnerships enrich our curriculum and help us to live out our shared values of Respect, Excellence, Equality and Kindness – the essence of “Cramond Cares.”

Celebrating 50 Years – 1975 to 2025

This year we are proud to celebrate Cramond Primary School’s 50th birthday. Our golden anniversary is a chance to reflect on the school’s rich history, acknowledge the dedication of past and present staff, pupils, families and community partners and to look ahead with excitement to the next chapter of our story.

As we mark this special milestone, we remain committed to ensuring Cramond Primary continues to thrive as a place where children are inspired to learn, achieve, and grow – and where the spirit of community continues to shine as brightly as it has for the past fifty years.
