Digital Learning & Teaching

At Cramond Primary, digital learning is woven into our pedagogy and practice, supporting our vision for learning that is collaborative, creative, curious and critically engaged. We are proud that our approaches to digital learning have been highlighted in Education Scotland and HMIE reports as a strength of the school.

Our pupils use digital technologies to create, communicate, collaborate and develop critical digital literacy skills. From the early years onwards, children engage in play-based, skills-focused experiences which grow into open-ended STEM challenges, coding, and computational thinking. Digital learning is never an add-on; it is embedded across the curriculum as a powerful tool for problem solving, teamwork and innovation.

We actively support the priorities of the National Improvement Framework (NIF) 2025, ensuring that digital learning plays a central role in:

• Raising attainment and achievement through access to high-quality, technology-rich learning experiences.

• Closing the poverty-related attainment gap by providing equitable access to devices, tools and opportunities for all learners.

• Developing skills for learning, life and work – building confident, responsible digital citizens ready for the future.

Through our commitment to child-led, purposeful and engaging learning, Cramond pupils experience digital learning in flexible learning environments, outdoors as well as indoors, and as part of real-world, meaningful contexts.

Our staff team continue to innovate and share practice, ensuring that Cramond remains at the forefront of digital pedagogy in Scotland.
