About Our School

Cramond-Primary

Cramond Primary is a non-denominational school built in 1975.  The school serves the village of Cramond and the surrounding areas of northwest Edinburgh.  We are part of the Royal High School cluster and work closely with the other associated primaries of Blackhall, Clermiston and Davidson’s Mains.  The school roll is over 500 pupils. We have a custom-built nursery on site with full time, term time places. Our school building was extensively upgraded and extended in 1999 and then again in 2006.  There are currently 17 classrooms and a large nursery classroom.  Our learning facilities include a new sportshall (2017) a nurture room, and ample agile spaces for learning. Cramond pride themselves on a flexible seating arrangement to facilitate agile learning. High quality spaces for learning are created indoor and outdoor with extensive natural playgrounds allowing high quality outdoor learning. The playground area also consists of a tarmac netball court,  a grassy ‘field’, large slide and sandpit areas.  We have a nursery and school wildlife garden including an outdoor classroom. Our PLACE has been developed over the summer of 2014 as a community resource for out of hours play. We continue to develop our outdoor learning spaces. Cramond has fostered many links with its community, particularly Cramond Kirk, St. Columba’s Hospice, Scottish Wildlife Trust, Cramond Heritage and BAA.  We have an active parent council and wellbeing grounds team.
